The Bilateral Agreement between the European Community and the United States of America came into effect on the 1st May 2011:

All maintenance organisations approved in accordance with Annex II (Part-145) to Regulation (EU) n°1321/2014 and needing to extend their field of activity to the maintenance of aircraft registered "N" or equipment/engines intended to be fitted on such aircraft, shall obtain a 14 CFR part 145 approval, issued by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

All the requirements for obtaining such approval by European maintenance organisations are described in the document called MAINTENANCE ANNEX GUIDANCE (MAG) signed between EASA and the FAA : it presents the procedures necessary for obtaining and managing the approval 14 CFR part 145 and the specificities called "special conditions".
Educational objective(s) :
Presentation of the procedures relating to the 14 CFR part 145 approval of an European organization, with a focus on MAG changes 7 and 8, in order to facilitate:
  • understanding of special procedures and conditions, and possible interpretation,
  • the necessary steps for the initial instruction, amendment and renewal of the approval.
It will also give the opportunity to answer your questions and share your feedback.

Requirements for participation:
As part of its user support commitments, OSAC is organizing a free training session. Only travel and accommodation costs remain the responsibility of the trainees. Lunches are provided by OSAC.
Applicants will be selected in order of receipt of registration requests, up to a limit of 12 trainees per session and 2 participants per organization. An invitation will be sent by email to confirm the candidates' registration, as soon as the training session is confirmed (sufficient number of participants enrolled).
A non-mandatory MCQ test will be offered to trainees at the end of the training session. Obtaining a minimum of correct answers on this test will result in a certificate of completion. If not, a certificate of attendance will be given to the trainee.
